School Starts August 31st

The School District of Palm Beach County will start the 2020-2021 school year with distance learning on Monday, August 31. On July 16, 2020, the School Board approved the Superintendent’s recommendation to keep students in a remote learning environment until health conditions improve in Palm Beach County. The plans have been submitted to the Florida Department of Education for approval.

It is the Superintendent’s goal to reopen school campuses as soon as it is safe to do so. The District believes that brick and mortar schools are the bedrock of the most effective educational experiences. However, during the pandemic, the District is committed to dedicating all of its resources into making distance learning a robust alternative until students and staff can safely return to in-person instruction.

Teacher Appreciation Week
Teacher Appreciation Week

Help show our Boca Middle teachers a little love. We celebrate our teachers the week of May 4h-8th. This year we ask you to think about sending your teachers virtual notes, thank yous or whatever you think is appropriate to show your appreciation during this trying time. If your child has a favorite teacher maybe he or she can make a sign saying thank you during live class or send a nice email showing appreciation.

The PTSA usually sponsors coffee carts and lunches during this time but since we are unable to do so, we are asking for your help. Remember, some of our teachers also have little ones at home and most are learning entirely new technologies and ways to teach. Help spread the word on your Facebook page or just by telling friends to say Thank You to a Teacher! Teacher Appreciation Day is Tuesday MAY 5th!  You can also nominate a teacher to thank through the school system at the following link:
