Hello BRCMS families! Thank you so much to those families that have already signed up to be a member of our PTSA! In PTSA news, we have a parent that has stepped up to be the next President the BRCMS PTSA. Joy Mach will be shadowing me until she feels confident and comfortable in the position and feels like she can go at it alone.  At that time, I will officially be removing myself from the position of President.  Although I will no longer be the acting President, I can assure you that I will continue to work along with Joy, and the entire board, to make sure that our students, teachers, staff and administration have everything that is needed in order to continue to be the wonderful school that BRCMS is!

Our first PTSA meeting was supposed to be this Thursday, but as you know school has been canceled, so we will reschedule after Irma.

We are currently looking for some parents to take over the week of “Spirit Week.” Spirit Week is a wonderful time at Boca Middle.  This year Spirit week will be October 23rd - 27th.  It is a time when when our PTSA gets together to celebrate the students.  It is our way of saying thank you for working so hard so far this year! Throughout the week, we create fun games for the students to partake in every morning.  We make “fun lunches” for our students during the week in order to help them to enjoy and relax a little bit during their lunch period.  This wonderful week concludes with our Boca Bash which is held at the school on October 27th Friday evening from 6-9pm. During this time, we supply games, bounce houses, a photo booth, a dance in our cafeteria as well as many fun activities in the courtyard and inside of our gymnasium. So, as you can see, this week WILL BE a FANTASTIC week for our students but we need YOUR HELP! Maybe you and a friend can take on this wonderful week.  If you would like to, please contact me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

If you would like to become more involved with our PTSA, we are currently looking to fill some spots.  If any of the following positions seem like something that you may be interested in, please contact me at This email address is being protected from spambots. • Vice President – Aide to President
  • Corresponding Secretary
  • Website Store Coordinator
  • Spirit Week Chair
  • Fall Fundraiser Chair
  • Membership Chair
  • Box Tops Chair
  • Business Partnership Chair

As you can see, there are MANY vacancies this year.  Currently, we have the following AMAZING ladies on the board:  Nicole Dion, VP of Ways & Means, Marni Donnelly, Recording Secretary, and Nitza Rosario, Treasurer.  These three ladies are some of the most dedicated women here at BRCMS and I don’t know what I would do without them!

So many of you have been asking about t-shirts and where you can purchase more.  The PTSA WILL be selling t-shirts at the Night of Grade Expectations Open House on Thursday, September 14th. We have gotten in over 1,200 brand new tie dyed t-shirt colors and we will also have long-sleeved shirts for sale as well.  On this night, we will begin taking orders for our sweatshirts.  There will be order forms in your student’s homeroom.  PLEASE send in the order form (in an envelope) with your student along with a check or cash for the amount owed.  Please put “sweatshirt order form attention: PTSA“  on the front of the envelope to assure that we receive the order. We will also have the sweatshirt order form up on the website beginning that evening.

Once again, I thank you so much for your support.  Have a wonderful school year and remember how important it is to join our PTSA!

I will end this email by saying that I hope that you all remain safe during Irma if this storm does come our way.  Please remember that we are all one big family here at BRCMS. We are a very active and caring community, so remember to ask your neighbors if they need help preparing as well.  Doing this together is much easier than going at it alone! Stay safe…

Be informed! Be active! Be your student’s biggest fan! Be a part of PTSA!
